Are you insulted by being called a WHINER by the McCain Campaign Co-Chairman?
Sheldon P asked:

***Foreclosures are reaching record levels
***Food and Fuel Costs are going out of sight
***Banks are starting to fail
***Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac need multi trillion dollar bail outs

Do we really need Republicans who deny there is anything wrong pulling out text book definitions of recessions and telling us our suffering is all in our head?

Yes, and so does most Americans. But McCain will not let this Grimm go because they think a like.
No because he is just some rich *******. Besides he is talking about all the whiney people, which I am not one of.
i’m only offended by obama’s voice and tan face.
i’m voting for cookie monster.
NO. I agree with President Bush, John McCain and Phil Gramm. It is not the Bush agenda that is the problem, it was an excellent plan! The problem is the liberal middle and working classes not working long enough and hard enough and not spending enough to keep our neoconservative economy going.
Let the whining liberal middle and working classes EAT CAKE.
You blame Bush. I BLAME YOU.
if you took offense to being called a whiner then you are in fact a whiner
I took no offense from it at all
I agree with him
Many Americans do nothing but whine
I wasn’t insulted I just thought it was the McCain campaign showing its true colors. When you have the top economic advisor say that the recession is all in our heads it shows you where they would take the economy if elected.
yes, yes I am.
I have no problems with republicans, but why do they complain so much.
And if they don’t have a reason to whine, they whine about ‘liberals’ whining.
Well I’m sorry, but republicans whine more.
they just dont get it do they…
I’m not insulted, It just confirms that Phil Gramm, McCAin and Bush, are simply out of touch with what is going on in ths country
Stop whining.
It seems there are many McCain supporters and advocates that don’t care who they insult or offend here is another insensitive GOP supporters work.
No because I know what it is like in other countries to have rations of food and a jeep or two per village…. not have freedom of religion, enough medical supplies and live in a 10×10 area with your families, we have nothing to complain about …
I once got offended when someone called me “short”. But then I realized, I am short.
I do not feel offended.
I agree 100% BC IF PEOPLE STOP BUYING STUFF ON THEIR CREDIT CARDS AND FiNanCING CARS AND HOUSE THAT COST 100,000+ and would try saving money they wouldn’t be in the situation that they are in NOW..
SOLUTION DONT BUY ANYTHING YOU CANT AFFORD IN CASH.
STOP TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE JONES
car cost a 95 Honda = 4,000
(cousin has 1)
trailer = 350/month
(mom has one)
From personal experience I can tell you that I am not suffering in any way due to any of those “problems”. I am also by no means wealthy ($32K salary).
Here we go:
#1. The Housing Market is not the responsibility of the Federal government.
#2. Foreclosures are the fault of people “buying” houses they could not afford.
#3. Supply and Demand. This is not the government’s fault nor is it their job to fix. This will correct itself.
#4. Not the government’s responsibility.
#5. Neither of them are getting any money as they do not need bailouts. That was a tactic used by stock market manipulators to turn a profit.
#6. Unemployment is still lower than it was during the Clinton administration and a 0.05% increase over a 9 month period is not a big deal.
Americans got way in over their heads with THEIR home loans…….thinking they could get a ARM loan to be able to get a bigger house that they could not afford!!!
That is the biggest problem with our economy right now!!!
That has nothing to do with the Republican party!!!
I agree with Lauren. They need to get some.
In addition, I do think American’s are whiners. There is a bunch of stuff wrong with our country, I’m not denying it, but most of what we ever do is whine. We don’t do anything about it. I am disgusted by McCain as much as the next guy, but whoever called us whiners is right.
I do not disagree with the term “whining”! I truly think that there are certain classes of people that whine. Too many people always want our government to solve every little problem for them.
Most people are the ones that cause their own problems. They like to blame others for there wrong decisions. As far as if we are in a recession or not it depends on your own financial makeup whether it is viewed that we are in one. I for one believe that we are in a slump but not a recession. Our economy overall is good.
Too many people are in trouble because they outspent their paycheck. They are a glutton on society and now want the people who have lived within their means to bail them out!
When you start saving what you earn instead of spending it then and only then will you know what financial independence is!
Not exactly. Granted, the comment is insulting. But in cases like this,I consider the source. There’s a story about a young Buddhist student who asked his teacher If it was better to be hated or loved (I’m cutting the story short)–and the teacher’s conclusion was ” It is best if those who are good love you and those who are evil **** you.”
When an insult is directed at me from some bigot, corrupt politician, or oneof the trash that compose the Bush administration and its apologists–I regard it as evidence I’m doing something right.
you can thank your democratic house and senate for all these downfalls…and B. Clinton too instead of getting his dck ****** he should of took out bin laden when he had the chance…it is easy to blame bush for a problem that existed before he became president. Thank the Dems for all our Sons & Daughters having to put their life on the line because we HAD a DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT that did not DO HIS JOB and that was protecting us!!
USS Cole The World Trade Center , US Embassys in Afica..
Democrates are soft.
***The Housing Market is tanking:
Irresponsibility got those who are in foreclosure trouble, not the government. Thank your democratic Congress for allowing this to happen though. If anyone is to blame besides the citizens taking the blame themselves then it would be our Congress.
***Foreclosures are reaching record levels:
See above.
***Food and Fuel Costs are going out of sight:
Your democratic environmentalist whack jobs have stopped us from being able to tap into our own untapped supplies such as ANWR and drill which would have prevented us from being where we are. It’s fine if they want to start researching alternative fuels, but there was no way we could all be using them already by now. We will be using natural resources for fuel for quite a long time still and if we could have only drilled here earlier.
***Banks are starting to fail:
Why does the government have to do anything about this. The banks make their own loan rates and decide what to do with the money they make.
***Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac need multi trillion dollar bail outs:
…and is it supposed to be the government that bails them out?
***Unemployment is on the rise:
True conservatives (not Bush as much but in the past) have urged Americans to buy American made goods, want to use our natural resources, and stop illegal immigration, all of which would keep jobs available for the American people. These are just a few examples.
All politicians have attributed to these problems in some ways, but blame our democratic Congress who has a single digit approval rating at the moment for promising all these plans but have done nothing to help. There is even a recording of Pelosi saying that she doesn’t want to implement any of their plans to help America’s crisis list until a democrat is in office so democrats can take 100% credit for it. Now that is pretty un-American if you ask me.
If I had a spouse worth $100,000,000 I wouldn’t be worried about the economy either.
It’s enough to make me realize that we don’t need another president with his head in the sand.
Obama for America!
I personally like it when they stick their feet in their mouths like that. They slip up, say what they’re really thinking, and people see them for what they are….slime.
No, I am not insulted. Phil Gramm was absolutely right. We are a nation of whiners. Our economy is good. Look at the growth rate. Take a deep breath, research before you believe what you are being spoon fed. Don’t believe everything you hear on television. Investigate it for yourself. Left or right, you need all the facts before making up your mind. Don’t be a Kool-aid drinker.
98% of the homes in America are not undergoing foreclosure. The economy is still growing, unemployment is still low, interest rates are low.
Two, count them, two banks have failed in 2008.
Guess if the shoe fits you should wear it. You will probably find them while you are hiding under your bed
